Process Technician Fundamentals e-Learning overview

The program is structured so that each trainee can progress at their own pace, by first completing the basic modules then moving onto the intermediate and advanced materials. Each module contains clearly written learning objectives with quizzes throughout to test knowledge and increase retention. The modules are rich with illustrations, animations, relevant photographs and include narration.

The PTFe program currently includes 61 e-Learning modules covering basic equipment through to advanced processes. With a strong focus on HSSE, the safety modules can be tailored to your needs or be provided as a complete curriculum to help ensure your trainees have the right knowledge and attitude towards safety.

    This e-learning module introduces trainees to the purpose and operating principles of positive displacement, reciprocating, diaphragm, rotary, and positive displacement pumps, and their auxiliary systems.

    This e-learning module introduces trainees to the purpose, operating principles, components and design of shell-and-tube, pipe coil, double pipe, plate-and-frame, air cooled, and spiral heat exchangers. An overview of heat transfer, fluid flow and heat exchanger applications is also explained.

    This e-learning module introduces trainees to the purpose and operating principles of batch, semi-batch, continuously stirred tank, and plug flow reactors.

    This e-learning module introduces trainees to the purpose and operating principles of centrifugal, axial, reciprocating compressors, sliding compressors, lobe compressors, and their auxiliary systems. Trainees will be able to explain how each type of compressor works; applications; and describe the subsystems required for their operation.

    This e-learning module introduces trainees to the definitions and principles of process variables (pressure, temperature, level, and flow) used in industrial applications. Trainees will understand the role of process variables in process control and learn how process variables are classified.
